Fairfield Financial Insitutions Blood Drive

Donor Eligibility Criteria: Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required to donate.  For questions about eligibility, please call the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center at (800)452-1097.
 
About Blood Donation: Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour.  Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be accepted as eligible donors.

2018 Legislative Forums

The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to provide Jefferson County residents the opportunity to share their views with state lawmakers during a series of four public forums during the Iowa legislative session. 
 
Monthly legislative forums are held at the Best Western from 7:30-9:00am on the third Saturdays of January, February, March, and April.  Legislators will provide a brief update followed by open Q&A moderated by Chamber Executive Director, Darien Sloat.  Coffee and Donuts will be provided to participants.

Thank you to our generous sponsors who make this event possible and also provide an opportunity for high school students to attend as their guest and learn about the political process.

free documentary MISSION BLUE

Fairfield's Sierra Club group is bringing the documentary MISSION BLUE to the Orpheum Theatre on Sunday, January 21st, with shows at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm.  This visually stunning and emotionally touching film reveals the present state of danger to the life of our planet's oceans through a look at the fascinating life of oceanographner and explorer Sylvia Earle, who is now a tireless champion for rescuing the seas from further devastation.

Understanding Financial Statements

A 4-Part Series with Andy Bargerstock. At the Fairfield Public Library, presentations will be offered in the Library’s meeting room. 

Dr.  Bargerstock (BA Economics, CPA, MBA Accounting, PhD Management) is Chair of the Accounting Department and Director of MBA Programs at Maharishi University of Management.  He has been a Fortune 500 subsidiary executive, a national consultant in accounting and human resource management, an entrepreneur, and a CPA firm auditor.
 
In recent years, Andy has received numerous national and global awards for peer-reviewed articles in management accounting, lean accounting and business ethics. In both 2009 and 2016 he was awarded the Lean Enterprise Institute’s Excellence in Lean Accounting Professor of the Year.  He teaches online webinars in investing for Rule #1 investing and assists regularly in live investment seminars in Atlanta with Phil Town.
